I am an artist, a photographer and a creative soul that is passionate about creatively expressing the world I see around me. I was formally educated in fine-arts, film, and photography at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with additional studies through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. In 1983, I founded HP Productions, Inc., one of Washington D.C.’s premier marketing communication firms, that specializes in digital art and graphics for print, video and web applications. In 1988, I was honored as one of the areas top photographers by the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington. My award winning art and designs have been featured in various industry publications worldwide. I teach workshops and classes on art, photography and design at the Great Falls School of Art. I live in Great Falls, Virginia with my husband and three boys.
For over 28 years I have produced artwork, photographs and film using traditional methods. Along this journey, I have searched for new ways to empower my creative potential and synergize art with state-of-the-art. In the early 80’s I experimented with painting oils on black & white prints. Over the next decade, as digital technology evolved, I designed single frame animations via rotoscope, beta-tested early digital video software from Avid and developed a new marketing venue for the Video Toaster. In the mid 90’s I developed a digital filter kit designed to mimic the brushstroke styles of the great masters and teamed with a leading paper manufacturer, to develop profiles for printing on artists’ canvas.
Today, I am focusing on creating artwork that is a metamorphosis between the world of traditional fine-art and the digital realm. Plus I am continuing on publishing a series of instructional DVD’s and How-To Workbooks on Digital Art & Design, Photoshop Elements, and Digital Photography. |
